What bathroom adaptations involves
An accessible bathroom adaptation ranges from adding grab rails and a shower seat to a full level-access wet room conversion, and is often specified following an Occupational Therapist assessment. Structural floor work is frequently needed to achieve level access and correct drainage falls, and adaptations may qualify for a Disabled Facilities Grant depending on individual circumstances.

Typical timescale
A grab rail or fitting addition can be a single day; a full level-access conversion typically takes one to two weeks depending on floor structure work needed.
Cost guidance
Cost depends on the extent of adaptation and any structural floor work required. An itemised quotation follows an assessment, and we can advise on Disabled Facilities Grant processes where relevant.
Limitations and exclusions
- We don't carry out Occupational Therapist assessments ourselves, but can work from one you already have or advise on getting one arranged
- Disabled Facilities Grant eligibility and application is handled through your local authority; we can advise but don't administer the grant process
