Architectural illustration of a South East England family home

Sussex · Surrey · Kent

Building, extension and renovation work managed from first survey to final sign-off.

The Weald Group carries out building and construction, extensions, new builds, conversions, renovations, and plumbing and heating work for homeowners across the South East, with a single point of contact throughout.

Why choose The Weald Group

A straightforward way to work with a builder

One team, start to finish

Design, approvals and construction are coordinated by a single point of contact, rather than you managing separate trades and designers yourself.

Written, itemised quotations

You receive a detailed quotation broken down by element, with any provisional sums clearly identified, before work starts — not a single headline figure.

Regulated where it matters

Gas and heating work is carried out only by Gas Safe registered engineers, and structural work is backed by qualified engineering input where required.

Direct communication throughout

Regular updates and a clear programme mean you know what stage the project is at, and what happens next, without having to chase.

Recent work

Project case studies

Each project sets out the brief, the challenges, the work carried out and the outcome — evidenced with photography and, where available, a client testimonial.

Our process

What happens after you get in touch

  1. 01

    Enquiry and initial conversation

You tell us about the project, the property and roughly what you have in mind, either through the quote form or by phone. We confirm whether it's a good fit and arrange a site visit.

  2. 02

    Site visit and survey

We visit the property to understand the building, the site constraints and what you're trying to achieve, and talk through realistic options before anything is designed.

  3. 03

    Design and approvals

Depending on the project, this covers layout drawings, structural input, and any planning or Building Regulations submissions needed before construction can start.

  4. 04

    Written, itemised quotation

You receive a detailed quotation broken down by element, with any provisional sums clearly flagged, so you know what is fixed and what depends on conditions found once work starts.

How do I get a quote?

Use the Request a Quote form to tell us about your project, or call us directly. We'll arrange a site visit to understand the property and your brief before providing a written, itemised quotation.

Is the initial quote free?

Yes, the initial site visit and quotation are provided at no charge and without obligation.

How long does a typical project take?

It depends entirely on the type and scale of work. Each service page sets out typical timescales, and you receive a specific programme for your project once the design and specification are agreed.

Do you handle planning permission and Building Regulations?

Yes, we coordinate planning and Building Regulations applications as part of the project where required, and advise on the likely route (permitted development or full planning permission) at the feasibility stage.

What happens if planning permission is refused?

We advise on the likelihood of approval based on local policy and precedent before you commit to a full application, to reduce this risk. If a scheme is refused, we discuss options including amending the design or appealing, depending on the reasons given.
