Commercial heating installation, maintenance and contracts
Commercial Heating Systems
Commercial heating covers the design, installation and ongoing maintenance of heating systems for non-domestic premises — offices, shops, warehouses and similar buildings — which typically differ from domestic systems in scale, controls and compliance requirements.
Definition
What Commercial Heating covers
Commercial heating systems range from a single larger commercial boiler serving a small office through to multi-zone systems with building management controls across larger premises. Installation and maintenance need to account for the specific use of the building, occupancy patterns, and any commercial gas safety and maintenance contract requirements that apply.
Suitable for
- Offices, retail units and light industrial premises needing a new or upgraded heating system
- Businesses wanting a scheduled maintenance contract for an existing system
- Landlords of commercial premises meeting gas safety obligations
- New commercial fit-outs where heating is part of a wider works package
Not suitable for
- Large-scale industrial process heating requiring specialist mechanical engineering design beyond building heating
- Domestic properties, where our standard boiler and heating services apply
Process
How the work is carried out
- 01
Site survey
Assessing the building, existing system (if any) and heating demand.
- 02
Specification
Proposing a system suited to the building's use, occupancy and budget.
- 03
Installation
Installing the system with minimal disruption to business operations, scheduled around trading hours where possible.
- 04
Ongoing maintenance
Agreeing a maintenance contract and service schedule where required.
Typical timescale
Timescales vary significantly with system scale and building type, and are confirmed in your project programme following survey.
Cost guidance
Commercial heating is priced individually for each contract following a site survey, as costs vary significantly with building size, system type and specification. We provide a bespoke quotation after assessment rather than a generic price.
Limitations and exclusions
- Any gas work is carried out only by an engineer Gas Safe registered in the relevant commercial category
- Building management system (BMS) integration beyond the heating installation itself is scoped separately where specialist BMS contractors are involved
- Ongoing maintenance contract terms and response times are agreed and set out separately from installation pricing
