What water softeners involves
A water softener treats mains water to reduce its mineral (hardness) content, which otherwise causes limescale build-up in pipework, boilers, and appliances such as washing machines and dishwashers, and reduces their working life. Installation involves plumbing the unit into the incoming mains supply, usually near the point where the mains enters the property.
